MISSION STATEMENT

Elk City students will become life-long learners which will enable them to be cooperative, productive, responsible, and successful in a changing world.

1. Call to Order
2. Comments from public; 3 minute time limit (per individual). In accordance with School Policy BED-R, any person wishing to make public comment must notify the Superintendent 24 hours prior to posting agenda.

* The Board of Education cannot legally enter into discussions or take action on any item addressed under public comment.  State law dictates that only those matters specifically appearing on the board agenda may be discussed or voted upon by the Board of Education.  Public comment exists to allow members of the public an opportunity to bring their concerns to the attention of the Board of Education.  However, to prevent any potential violations of the Oklahoma Open Meeting Act, no interaction or discussion will occur with regard to any item addressed under public comment.  Should action be deemed to be necessary, an item will appear on the next meeting agenda for discussion and/or possible board action.

3. Consent Agenda
All of the following items, which concern reports and items of routine nature normally approved at board meeting, will be approved by one vote unless any board member desires to have a separate vote on any or all of these items. The consent agenda consists of the discussion, consideration and approval of the following items (OS Section 533)
A. July 10, 2017 Regular Board Meeting Minutes.
B. Financial Transactions
1. Superintendent's Financial Report
2. Treasurer's report ending July 31, 2017.
3. Activity Fund report ending July 31, 2017.
4. New encumbrances and change orders as submitted.
4. Items for Consideration
A. Board to consider and take action to approve or not approve the revision of the 2017-2018 Extra Duty Pay Schedule.
B. Board to consider and take action to approve or not approve the 2017-2018 Career Tech Contract for Secondary Career and Technology Education Programs.
C. Board to consider and take action to approve or not approve the Gifted and Talented Plan.
D. Board to consider and take action to approve or not approve the Resolution for Federal Programs Custodian.
E. Board to consider and take action to approve or not approve the application for Library Deregulation for grades PK-3, 7-8, and 9-12 through 2019-2020.
F. Board to consider and take action to approve or not approve the Residency Committee for Resident Teacher, Jon Greene. Committee Members: Robin Coffman, Danny McClure, Richard Moran
G. Board to consider and take action to approve or not approve the Residency Committee for Resident Teacher, Tiffany Piper. Committee Members: Randy Turney, Robin Coffman, Kathleen Jung
H. Board to consider and take action to approve or not approve Speech Language Contract for the 2017-2018 School Year with Dara Clark.
I. Board to consider and take action to approve or not approve the Elk City School Committees.
J. Board to consider and take action to Adopt, Revise, or Eliminate the following Board Policies: Adopt: BBB-E3 - Application for Vacant Board Position, EHBDBA - Parent Participation in the School District, Adopt & Revise: FL-R - Compliance with Family Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 Regulation, EHBDB - Title I Parent Involvement, EK-R1 - Testing Program Student Surveys Regulation, FLB - Permanent Record Cards, DOCA - Reduction Force Certified Personnel, DEA-R1 - Teacher Salary Schedule, DAA - Nondiscrimination, DMB - Professional Growth & Development, EIED - Graduation Requirements - Revise: DNA - Teacher Evaluation, DNA-E1 - Professional Learning Focus Form, DEC - Sick Leave Certified Personnel, Eliminate: FNCA - Student Conduct Dress Code, FNCA-R1 - Student Conduct Dress Code Regulation.
5. Vote to convene or not convene into executive session and do one or all of the following as provided by 25 O.S. Section 307 (B) (1) of the Open meeting Law:
A. Discuss the employment, resignation, termination, or appointment of all persons listed as such on tonight's agenda.

7. Vote to return to open session.

C. Discuss setting a date to meet with the Committee Members of Advantage Elk City.

E. Next Regular Meeting - September 11, 2017 at 6:00 pm
10. New Business
New Business as used herein shall mean any matter not known about or which could have been reasonably foreseen prior to the time and posting of the agenda (25 O.S. 311 (A) (9). 
11. Adjourn
Anyone needing assistance to enter the Board of Education Building or special consideration during the meeting must notify the Superintendent at least twelve (12) hours prior to the beginning of the meeting. 

 

Individuals having a physical condition that prevents them from attending the board meeting are requested to contact this office no later than 12:00 noon the last working day before said meeting so arrangements may be made to accommodate said individuals.
